whole day's walk arnd london's finest.
today wasnt the last to wake up! whoots! :D lazy daddy was. we had to have caleb to wake us up. -_-
he was like: everyone's waiting for you!
me: *immediately wakes up* (thinks to myself): shit!
but when i looked arnd, saw daddy still slping. slightly relieved cos i wont be paiseh. :D
after all the morning "rituals", went off to take a bus to canada water station. from there, took the tube to westminister station. after getting off, the long journey began.
started off at the london eye, the big ferris wheel thing like singapore. took some pics and then realised that the big ben was behind us. so we just turned and took some pics of it too. :D actually, big ben is the name of the bell inside the tower. cant rmb what the tower was called. but tourists only know that its called big ben. only knew it when my uncle told us. then we walked over to outside downing street/whitehall to take more pics. :D
next, it was over to westminister abbey. a HUMONGOUS cathedral. the one that held princess diana's funeral. (: it was really nice looking on the outside. went to the gift shop to buy some souveniors. i done all my souvenior shopping for others, so its time i bought some for myself. (: bought a deck of cards with pics of famous london places on it. cool lah. :D opposite the abbey were some statues of ancient ppl. guess who's statue i saw! winston churchhill's! so obviously, i had to take a pic with it. good thing i study hist. :D
had lunch at st james' park. plus, we got to feed the squirrels, cos some kind old gentleman gave me some nuts to feed them. thank you you nice gentleman! :D
headed over to buckingham palace next. as usual, took pics again. stared at the guards. my uncle took a pic of one of the guards, and he had a really really stern face. SCARY. :D and just when my uncle wanted to take him, he started to march away. we were like -_-!!!! stupid guard.
trafalgar square was our last stop. took a pic at some fountain. saw the christmas tree my uncle was hoping we could, cos we didnt know when it would come. the tree's from finland, as a thank you gift to britain for helping them in some war. :D it just came that morning. how lucky. (:
time to head back, but as we were walking back to the train station, saw a shop selling tix for theatre shows. there was phantom of the opera! since auntie florence said that it would be good to watch a theatre show here, so i seized the opportunity to ask mummy and daddy! and they agreed! so we're watching phantom of the opera tmr! whoots! :D
Day 4! welcome to LUZERN!
woke up at 6am cos i kept waking up every hour for no reason. so out of frustration, i didnt want to sleep anymore. watched some children shows on BBC prime, one of the 3 english chnls avaliable. there were like 58 chnls and 55 of them were in their freaking language. -_- left me nth but children shows to watch. -_- after awhile, got ready and went down for breakfast. there was only: BREAD. -_- pathetic mann. and my family was the only ppl in the entire restaurant. pathetic once more! -_-
after breakfast, went out for a little walk. guess what the temperature was. zero degreess celcius! no kidding! i was in ice condition! how cold is that! went back after about half an hour, packed our stuff and checked outta the hotel. took a train back to brig, to change train to take to goschenen. then, another train to arth-goldau, and another, to reach our final destination: LUZERN. it was like the longest train ride of my life. 6 hrs! i was like fainting of boredom in there! you try sitting for 6 hrs and see if you feel the same. SHEESH!
on the train, mummy made me eat a few orange slices. "or vitamin c" she says. you know i hate oranges. but i gotta say: SWISS ORANGES ARE THE BEST! (: take it from me. i enjoyed them. so super duper sweet! unlike singapore ones. and the transparent thing covering the pulp, it didnt taste disgusting. whoots. :D
at luzern, checked-in into hotel monopol, and my, what a grand hotel. what a beauty. decorated damn nicely. artistically. (: imagine my joy when i entered the room. ohmy!
since it was a sunday, all the shops were closed. so we had no choice but to eat our dinner and head back to the hotel. ate pizzas and had mcflurry for dessert though it was so darn cold! :D the mcflurry in switzerland is much yummier than singapore! it tasted different. just heavenly. :D they had daim bits for the topping! different yeah? (: dont get jealous. :DLabels: the writings on the old oak tree revealed...
